In September, I had a small exhibition at the Sou’-Sou’-West Gallery Shop in Symondsbury. Having done a very successful show there back in 2019 (remember those dreamy days when life just worked?), I developed a new body of work for this one. The first, Waterline, was boat hull abstracts, and although I have since added many more such abstracts to my collection, I thought it would be lazy to revisit the same topic, and found a new waterline to explore – the sea horizon. Most of the photos I chose to exhibit are just sea, sky and clouds, though a few rocks, sand and pebbles put in an appearance.
What appeals to people is unfathomable – perhaps the more representational subject provoked in viewers the quote dreaded by artists – “Oh, I could do that!” ? If I inspired a couple of people to go off and make their own images, I should be grateful, though I have to say I’d have been better pleased if more had sold 🙂
Anyway, these are the images that I framed up and printed as cards for the show – I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them in the first place!
