Ripples and riffles

I have only ever once been to the Scilly Isles, and was entranced by the limpidity of the water compared to the sediment-laden sea at home. This is a view of the sea in the harbour at St Agnes on a breezy day – unusually, mid-day light worked with rather than against me, because it illuminated the granite cobbles on the sea floor as well as causing reflections from the sky.
