Sometimes, five minutes is all it takes

Chancer in the middle

I often plan to spend some time taking photos, but today, everything came together and a few minutes was all it needed. We had a light sprinkling of snow overnight (unusual in January here), so on the way back from saying hello to my horse, I pulled up at the side of the road in Champernhayes (or Charmouth) forest and hopped over the bank to look at a stand of beech trees against the blue sky. And, wonder of wonders, I had the camera with me, just in case. I was pleased with the few images I took – some conventional, and some ICM.

I generally visit this spot in autumn or spring, so seeing it in a different light in winter was pleasing. Five minutes later, I was on my way home…
