Warm sunny autumn days are too precious to waste, so when I looked out the bedroom window and saw mist lying in the valley, I quickly got dressed and went out for a short walk with the camera. I’m so glad I did – it was one of those wonderful sparkly mornings, full of dew, and as warm outside as inside, even before 7am. But despite the glorious warmth, there is an indefinable feel in the air now which makes it clear summer is gone – and the robin’s wistful winter trilling just adds to the impression.
I was especially pleased to have caught the swirling harrow patterns in the field, which were only there for a day before the crop was sown.
