Pinstripes

Far from the city, a field of germinating fodder maize calls to mind a folded striped cloth. Late evening sun and a telephoto lens accentuate the contours of a gently folded hill just up the road from my house.

Although this was taken many years ago now with a fairly basic camera, it still gives me a frisson of pleasure to see it – almost as much as when I first saw the image downloaded onto my computer. Something about the formality of the sown lines and the gentle shading of the distant slope I find irresistible.
