“Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone.
Kindness in another’s trouble,
Courage in your own.” Adam Lindsay Gordon
A wild night left lots of algal debris and wind-whipped seafoam on the beach at Lyme. I’d actually gone to see if there was a good sunrise to snap, but ended up fascinated by the patterns in the sand instead.
Less happily, heavy rain in the night had scoured the sand exposing thousands of broken scraps of plastic, blue biobeads (there’s one above – can you see it?) and nurdles. It’s frightening how much rubbish lies buried on our beaches, just waiting for the right weather to release it.
