As the winter season progresses, we are now on ‘D’ for Diana in our new fad for naming storms. She passed through over a couple of days bringing wind, waves and wrack aplenty. I managed to get to my favourite beach at the tail end, to be rewarded by masses of washed up detritus and a lovely golden end to the day.
It never ceases to amaze me how much the beach changes – one day, sand; another, grit; and a third, much rock swept bare; or huge tangles and rolls of uprooted seaweed. Today was a good one for finding seaglass and domestic detritus washed out of the tip.
